BIG BIG NEWS!

Party in the Art Room has really grown in just one semester. Enrollment has doubled, and I anticipate afternoon classes to pick up additional kids once the semester starts. This is wonderful because it is my dream come true. Getting art into the hands of as many kids as possible is what drives me and gives me hope for the future! If you know even a little about me, you know this is the truth! So, with this growth, I’ve had the great pleasure to add an additional teacher to our program. After a lengthy vetting and interview process involving several candidates,Ms. Jenn Hudson shone like a diamond, a star, a real stand out. I am pleased to introduce you to her at this time.

Ms. Jenn is a graduate of Mississippi State University and is an established artist working primarily in photography. She is a native of North Mississippi with a passion for helping others become their best selves. She is inspired by the creative energy of others and understands the creative process as being unique to each individual. She is eager to work with the students at Party in the Art Room. She will teach the curriculum I’ve developed alongside me during the Homeschooler classes as well as the Thursday 5:15 classes. She will fill in as a substitute for me as needed on other days after her training period is complete. This is to ensure that Party in the Art Room can still meet its goals of high-quality art instruction while allowing me to continue consulting with teachers on arts education both here in Mississippi and around the country. I want everyone to feel comfortable with this exciting addition to Party in the Art Room. So, if you’d like to drop by to meet her before her training time ends, please feel free to do so during Wednesday 11 a.m. classes or Thursday 5:15 classes during the month of January.

This is going to be an amazing semester. In addition to all the excitement in this email, Ms. Jenn and I are brainstorming experiences such as art walks, photography excursions, nature art installations, and field trips that can be added to the Party in the Art Room repertoire in the future. So, stay tuned!

All my best,
Amanda K.
